What Happens With All The Money Raised

I think this is very important information for those who want to know what happens to money they donate or help to raise via traded items as with this page.
So here is the information as provided by the Cancer Council.

How the money is used

Across the state, Cancer Council is working for you.  As well as funding more cancer research than any other charity, Cancer Council provides vital services for people with cancer and their families.

Here are just some of the ways that we are helping defeat cancer in the community – thanks to the funds you raise.

Cancer Council Helpline 13 11 20

Our specialist cancer nurses assist more than 50,000 people across the state each year with cancer information and support.  For the cost of a local call from anywhere in Australia, the Helpline provides information on all aspects of cancer, practical and emotional support and details of support groups and other services in your local area

Cancer Council Helpline 13 11 20 can provide you with information about services and support groups.  Our Helpline can also refer you to the Cancer Counselling Service which is a free and confidential cancer counselling service that is available to all people who would like help coping with cancer.

One-to-one support

Cancer Connect is a one to one peer support program which connects you with a specially trained volunteer who has been through a similar cancer and treatment experience and understands what you may be going through.

Support & Information Packs

Free packs containing vital information for people dealing with a cancer diagnosis are available from the Helpline or your local cancer treatment centre.

Cancer Research

The Cancer Council's mission is to defeat cancer and we see research as playing a vital role.  New research projects being added to both internally and externally along with bringing research results out of the lab and into treatment centres is another important priority and commitment of the Cancer Council.

We are confident that funding quality research and researchers today will produce the breakthroughs we need to ensure the ongoing improvements in preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer.
