- I am one of far to many people who have had cancer affect their lives in some way. For me it is the loss of many family members, the most recent being my sister in 2009. It was Erin's wish to spread the word "Know and Listen To Your Body" and her courage that gave me the push to to start the fundraising campaign. I have chosen to do so via the Relay for Life an event that raises money for Cancer Council. For those that don't know about the Relay for Life it is a 24 hr (in WA and 19hr other states)event where teams keep a baton moving around laps of selected venues. The meaning of the continual movement of the baton and the length of time of the event is that cancer never stop nor does it ever sleep. Relay for Life's motto is Celebrate, Remember, Fight Back! I think that says it all.
